Dear Biz,

The questions that keep coming up for me in recent months are generally phrased, “What is the actual, original source for __________________.” The query may relate to a quote, a calculation, or a supposed fact. Writers and posters often lay out a statement as if it is fact, but, alas, there is no fact behind that fact, no actual source behind that quote, and no real math behind that calculation. I wonder if Ask Jelly will be able to find the book, speech, article, or lecture behind those quotes that everyone loves, or the statistic that transforms a social issue.
